Community Supported

April 26, 2013

The community support of  The Wild Ramp has been amazing! We can’t begin to thank the hundreds of individuals, groups, and business that have encouraged, advised, and supported The Wild Ramp with their time and with their hard earned cash!

And we need you! Simply put, The Wild Ramp would not exist with out your support!  Recently, our missions statement, framed by volunteer Graham Rankin, was hung in the store.

The market is almost entirely staffed by volunteers. The behind the scenes work is done by volunteers. The marketing is done by volunteers, most often in the form of you telling your friends about The Wild Ramp. There are so many ways to be involved at The Wild Ramp.

Just this week, on our Facebook page, there was a call out for volunteers to help move a donated refrigerator, and volunteers are getting together today to help sew the popular Wild Ramp market bags.  There was a request for a paragraph or two about what The Wild Ramp has meant to you for a book that is being put together. The volunteer group   lists open shifts at the market for the week, and you pick them up! Thanks!

The community has given their money to make this nonprofit market financially viable.  Thank you to those who are Friends of the Market. Thanks to our corporate sponsors whose support pays the rent!

The community built this market, and continues to make it work!

Next Saturday, May 4th will be a busy day at the market. We’re calling it Wild Ramp Round Up because there is so much going on!  There will be plant sales and exchanges, a lemonade stand operated by some young entrepreneurs, and local business owner, Chris Miller, of Dutch Miller Auto Group, will be greeting customers and bagging purchases in support of the over 75 farmers and food producers who bring their goods to the market.

Dutch Miller Auto Group has been a huge supporter of this market! Chris Miller says he supports The Wild Ramp because, “I believe in local farming, local jobs, local health and grass fed animals.” They are a past corporate sponsor of the market and will grant The Wild Ramp a special anniversary present this summer! Continuing their support of  The Wild Ramp, Dutch Miller will give the market a van to use for delivery and distribution of local food goods!

We, the community, the business’ and the individuals, built this market. We made it happen. We continue to make it grow and to succeed! The Wild Ramp is truly community supported! Thank you!
