Last week when I wrote about how many wonderful friends the Wild Ramp Market has, I did not include everyone. There will be continuing installments about people. Today I want to tell you about Noelle Horsfield, an artist who has recently returned to the Tri-State area.
She was raised on a small family farm in Ohio near Waterloo. As an only child, stuck far away from friends with only cows and pigs around, Noelle found she loved art. She decided when she was very young that she wanted to be an artist and pursued a fine arts degree at Marshall.
It was there that she met her husband Scott whose career in retail has required them to move, first to northwestern Indiana; then to Bath, Maine; and then to Northhampton, Massachusetts. Noelle was able to be involved in the artist communities in each place she lived and really enjoyed the environment offered by those places where artists actually worked in a studio setting. She felt her own creativity enriched by the active efforts around her.
In Massachusetts she began to develop the graphic aspect of the note cards now on sale at the Wild Ramp.
Noelle is building a display for the Market that will hang on the wall behind the proposed check-out counter. I was able to see a few sections of the piece in various stage from soft clay to pre-glazed and I can tell it will be spectacular.
~~~~~We will have to be patient….she hopes to have it complete before the end of October.
