Wild Ramp Wild Weekend

September 7, 2012

This is a great weekend to show how much you are glad the Wild Ramp market is here in the TriState area.

Saturday from 2-4 is the Cash Mob. Selected by Create Huntington as the local business to be mobbed, the Wild Ramp is ready!! Come on over to check us out if you have never been here before or just come to support this endeavor!

Check out the meats! Taste how amazing grass-fed beef is! Enjoy the flavors in the heritage breed pork! Be amazed at how  pastured chickens develop so much more flavor than you have been used to!

Feast with your eyes on the colors of the vegetables! Have you ever eaten a chocolate pepper? You might now expect this to be something better served up at Easter, but no, the flavor is similar; it is the color that is unique. How about those pink and white shelley beans? Or the bright reds, yellows and greens for the tomatoes. Get something in all the colors!!

And for your sweet tooth, you can find honey, raspberries, apples, pumpkins, pumpkin cookies (while supplies last), and Jeni’s ice cream (ditto).

Also take a look at some of the crafts that have been juried to sell at the Wild Ramp. Get going on your holiday shopping!

So, be there: Shop 13 at Heritage Station. Down the stairs by Bottle and Wedge or through the courtyard and then down the steps and ramp to the lower level. Cash Mob is from 2-4. If you can’t come then, come any time while the market is open and just say that you are “Mobbing”!

Sunday from 9-5 is the Community Helps a Farmer Project at the Potager’s in Hurricane. This will be the first monthly event where the community will come to help one of our Producers with a large scale project. By community effort we can help them keep their cost low to prepare something they need to bring us fresh food at affordable prices.

Julie Schaer needs help raising her high tunnel and many hands will make light work of this project. Additional chores at the farm can be completed by other volunteers not needed for the high tunnel project.

Directions: Go east on I-64 and get off at the Hurricane exit. Go AWAY from Hurricane (turn north) and the farm is at  Sleepy Creek. That is the first road after the shopping center.

Bring gloves and extra cordless drills could be useful. If you can’t come until after church, please come then!

Julie will provide drinks and lunch.   304-562-0373
