Juried Craft Products Wanted for the Wild Ramp Market

August 12, 2012

The Wild Ramp is a new year-round community-supported market that provides a viable economic outlet for local food producers while providing consumers access to locally grown agricultural products. It is located in Heritage Station on the corner of Memorial Blvd and 11th Street.

The Wild Ramp announces its first craft jury session. We are looking for locally made work that has at least one element that is locally grown or locally produced. Agricultural products are given extra preference. The Wild Ramp defines locally grown to be within 250 miles of Huntington, West Virginia.

Examples of locally sourced crafts could include items made with locally grown wool, stained glass made with Blenko sheet glass, or hand made things using recycled or upcycled materials. Examples of agricultural products include candles made from beeswax, wool yarn, or goat milk soap.

To sell work at the Wild Ramp, participants will pay an annual $50 producer fee or Friend of the Market fee. Additionally there will be a $50 shelf fee for 4 months and 15% commission will be charged. Successfully juried artisans can have these fees deducted from sales checks. Work will be taken on a 4 month basis, with the first round starting in September and running through December.

To participate in this jury, please drop craft work off at the Wild Ramp at Heritage Station between 11am and 7pm on August 15, 16, or 17 and pick up work August 22, 23, or 24. Panel results and critique will be e-mailed or sent via USPS. There will be jury forms available at the Wild Ramp and online at http://www.wildramp.com.

This jury sounds great, but for those who are 200 or so miles away, it’s not a reasonable dropoff/pick up schedule. Could they submit photos?
