Bag Preview

July 4, 2012

A Friend of the Wild Ramp will receive a bunch of perks but one very real and useful item that you will receive is a reusable shopping tote. This is a very green product as the fabric was donated by farmers and is made of feed sacks. These are heavy duty plastic bags that hold 100 pounds of feed. They have been washed, cut, sewn, and decorated!

Years ago feed bags used to be cloth and you may have heard how dresses and aprons were made from their flowered fabric. While these newer bags were not beautiful to begin with, the sewing skills of our volunteers and graphic artists have made them the TriState’s newest collectible!!!

They did come out nicely!! It was interesting working with the bags. They shed so easily so the first thing was to make sure to stitch all the edges!
